Located in Frederick County the Winchester Log Yard is in Stephenson, Virginia two miles north on Route 11 off of exit 317 on Interstate 81. Blue Ridge Lumber Co., LLC opened this log yard on December 1, 2009 to acquire logs from the Northwestern counties in Virginia, the Northeastern counties in West Virginia as well as Maryland and Southern Pennsylvania.
The Winchester Log Yard is a grade yard which accepts first and second cuts that are 14” in diameter and larger from the following Alleghany and Appalachian hardwood species: Red Oak, White Oak, Chestnut Oak, Black Oak, Poplar, Hickory, Walnut, Cherry, Ash and Hard and Soft Maple. Logs are received from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Payment is issued every Friday for all logs received by 5:00 pm the preceding Wednesday.
